The Fishing in Sturgeon Bay is great!
Sturgeon Bay’s fishing history dates back many years and the tradition continues into the new millennium. Being one of the only locations anywhere that both cool and warm water species can be taken from one location.

Located between Lake Michigan and Green Bay offers anglers their choice of species. The bayside teams with Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky and Perch, not only in good numbers, but also in trophy size. The lakeside offers trollers Chinook Salmon, Steelhead, Lake Trout and Brown Trout. All these species from just one spot – Sturgeon Bay!

Each year many trophy size fish of each species are taken in both the open water as well as the ice fishing seasons. This is a true 12 month fishery. Salmon over 30 lbs., Walleyes to 14 plus lbs., 6 lb. Smallmouth, Musky and Northern over 20 lbs. all keep anglers coming to Sturgeon Bay waters.

Sturgeon Bay offers two quality launch sites – the Sawyer Park launch site, including six launch lanes with two fish cleaning facilities, as well as heated washrooms and showers. The Sunset Park site has two lanes and is located close to the outer bay.

Publicized as one of the top ten spots for Smallmouth Bass nationally, one of Wisconsin’s best bets for trophy Salmon, a long time Walleye hotspot, as well as being well-known for both Northern Pike and Perch, are just some of the reasons for fishing Sturgeon Bay. The great scenery, the friendly people and the great accommodations are others. If you’re looking for the best “Hot Spot” Wisconsin has to offer, come to Sturgeon Bay.

Sturgeon Bay has a great charter fleet to take you to Lake Michigan to troll for the “Big Ones”, as well as many guides for bayside fishing. Local sport shops also keep close tabs on the fishing scene.
